The Farah Aureate Blazer

The Farah Aureate is The Farah in domed gold. Same built shoulder, same wide peak lapels, same sculpted waist, cut in matte banana crepe and drawn for the curvy body. The buttons are the only change, and they change what the front says.

Four gold buttons sit double-breasted in two rows of two. Each one is domed and textured, raised off the fabric with a worked surface that holds light rather than throwing it back. Against matte crepe they read closer to jewellery than to hardware. Everything underneath is the blazer you already know: canvas and light padding carrying a wide, level shoulder line, the waist drawn in sharply through princess and side seams, the hip released in one clean sweep to a hip-length hem, and jetted welt pockets cut flat into the fabric so nothing interrupts the front.

Wide at the shoulder, exact at the waist, warm at the closure. The gold is the one thing on the garment that catches the eye, and it catches it at the waist.
